Kermit Heartsong, author and former publisher  (Tayen Lane Publishing) is the lead consultant for W.S.D.G. Design and he handles all of our Special Projects. His experience in running a small boutique publishing company has provided Kermit with a great deal of knowledge and experience in regard to the publishing industry, self-publishing, editing, marketing, and publicity.

Kermit has published over 100 books across all genres of fiction and non-fiction. He has scheduled and managed production runs, developed the necessary printing specifications, budget formulation, and marketing plans for effectively bringing a book to market. His knowledge, hard won, is available to all W.S.D.G. clients via our Consulting Service. This same knowledge does not have to be hard won for you.

We are more than happy to assist you in bringing your project to the market, while saving you time, money, bad advice, and the resultant frustration and costs.

Our BOOK PROPOSAL REVIEW service features two complete reads of your book proposal with detailed notes per section and correctives, toward developing a professional Book Proposal for submission to agents and publishers.

The book proposal will be read by a former developmental editor, columnist, and published author, who ran a small publishing house, as publisher/CEO, for seven years and who worked with bestselling authors Matthew Fox and Andrew Harvey, to name a few.

Our BOOK PROPOSAL WRITING service represents the drafting of a book proposal to include ten (10) of the eleven (11) elements listed below, with the author providing two sample chapters, that will be reviewed, edited, and developmentally edited, if called for.

WSDG's PUBLIC RELATIONS Services provide for up to two distinct press releases for national submission, as well as submission to relevant, review-based journals, and to local media (TV, radio, internet-based) as well.

The Public Relations segment of our marketing services will encompass:

  • Press Release Creation

  • Press Release Distribution

  • Media Relations

  • Consumer and trade reviews

  • Outreach to influencers and partners

  • Book endorsement outreach

The campaign will commence from the first date of payment and will continue for a three month period. 

There are no guarantees, that a review will be placed or published, nor sales made, but the client will be apprised of all efforts made on its behalf via BCC emails, reviewer lists, any mailings or shipments of review books made (books provided by client).

The Client will be responsible for providing and shipping all books designated for review. The number of books sent for review will not exceed 50 books.

The LIFECYCLE BOOK service assists a writer, who has a rough draft or a writer 'curating' a manuscript from a great source of content (bloggers, scientists, business professionals, entrepreneurs, etc.), to turn this product into a finished, professionally edited and designed manuscript, with a public relations campaign that has launched months before the book's actual debut.

Developmental Edit: Represents help with the curation of content or the structuring of an existing manuscript, via the building of themes or the organization of content into a manuscript, that holds market potential in its given genre.

Editing: The traditional editing of content necessary to bring a professionally written book to the market.

Design: The design of a book's interior pages, from front matter to back matter, and the book's cover. If your manuscript is over 350 pages in a 6"x9" format, please inquire for pricing. Please inquire for the pricing of art, coffee table, or children’s books.

Public Relations: The Public Relations aspect provides for up to three distinct press releases for national submission, as well as submission to relevant, review-based journals, and to local media (TV, radio, internet-based). The Public Relations segment of the LIFECYCLE BOOK service will encompass:

Our GHOST WRITING services will, generally, take from six (6) to nine (9) months to complete, depending upon subject matter, client consultations, the expedient review and return of edits, and efficient and timely submission of additional materials, as provided by client.

The fee for a manuscript of up to two hundred and fifty pages (250) is $33,000, with the payments made in three equal installments. The fee for a manuscript of up to four hundred pages (400) is $55,000, in three equal installments.
